The Institute promotes collaboration between Universities, academies and learned societies in the two countries and assists in the organization of major Italian cultural events in Britain.

The Institute cooperates with departments of Italian in British Universities and, in particular, is the official agency for joint appointments of Italian language assistants. The Institute also cooperates with other University Departments, both in the humanities and in the natural science fields.

The Institute enquiry office gives information on all aspects of Italian cultural and social life.

The Institute organises and promotes lectures, exhibitions, symposia and concerts, both at the Institute and elsewhere.
