The library, which is open to the general public, consists at present of some 30,000 books in Italian, with a large reference section on Italian culture and history.

Every day the major Italian newspapers as Il Corriere della Sera and La Repubblica are delivered at the Institute and are at public's disposal.
- Most books and videos may be borrowed by members of the Institute.
- A list of the new acquisitions of books and videos is also available upon request.
- Members of the Institute may borrow three books at a time for a fortnight and may extend this period on application, provided the books are not requested. Books of reference, special essays and series, rare books and periodicals may not be borrowed. Videos are available to schools, universities and other cultural and educational institutions.
- Books can be returned by post and any change of address must be notified immediately.
- All books, videos must be used with care and must on no account be marked or otherwise defaced. Also, they must be returned on time or promptly renewed. Failing this, the Institute may withhold the membership of the borrower and seek appropriate compensation.
The Italian Cultural Institute reserves the right to alter any of the above regulations. |
